Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for an experienced Cantonese to English VRI Interpreter. The Interpreter will be responsible for providing real-time video remote interpretation services with high accuracy and cultural sensitivity. Daily tasks include interpreting conversations between Korean and English speakers in various settings, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to HIPAA guidelines. The Interpreter will also be required to manage calls through our efficient call system.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Cantonese and English with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages
• Experience in video remote interpreting (VRI) and over-the-phone interpreting (OPI)
• Strong understanding of cultural nuances and ability to deliver accurate interpretations in various settings
• Proficiency with communication technology and interpreter management systems
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Flexibility to work in a remote environment and manage calls efficiently
• Relevant certifications such as CCHI, ATA, or similar are beneficial
• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred

Technical Requirements

To ensure seamless communication, you'll need:

• A quiet workspace, free from distractions
• USB headset and white t-shirt
• A laptop/PC with a minimum Intel Core i5 (10th generation or higher), 8 GB RAM, and 1080p webcam
• High-speed, wired internet connection (20 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload)
• A solid, grey background for video calls
