Job Description

Position Summary

The Camp Manager is responsible for the successful day-to-day operation of Newtonshow Holiday Camps across Singapore. This role ensures outstanding customer experience, excellent staff management, operational efficiency, child safety, and the highest quality of camp delivery.

The Camp Manager leads teachers and coordinators, oversees daily camp operations, communicates with parents, maintains safety standards, and ensures every child has an exceptional experience.

Key Responsibilities

Camp Operations

  • Manage the daily operation of assigned camp locations.
  • Ensure camps start and finish on time.
  • Prepare daily schedules and activity plans.
  • Ensure classrooms are fully prepared before camp begins.
  • Monitor smooth transitions between activities.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise teachers, assistants and camp coordinators.
  • Conduct daily team briefings.
  • Allocate staff according to attendance.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching.
  • Ensure staff maintain Newtonshow service standards.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training.

Child Safety & Welfare

  • Ensure all Child Safety Policies are followed.
  • Maintain correct teacher-to-child ratios.
  • Monitor child sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • Supervise excursions and outdoor activities.
  • Conduct child headcounts throughout the day.
  • Respond appropriately to accidents or incidents.
  • Maintain a safe learning environment at all times.

Parent Communication

  • Welcome parents professionally.
  • Handle enquiries and complaints.
  • Provide updates regarding children's progress.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly.
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction.

Camp Quality

  • Observe lessons and activities.
  • Ensure teachers deliver engaging, interactive sessions.
  • Monitor children's participation and enjoyment.
  • Ensure activities follow Newtonshow standards.
  • Maintain a positive camp atmosphere.

Staff Development

  • Train new teachers.
  • Conduct performance observations.
  • Deliver refresher training in:
  • Child Safety
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Classroom Management
  • Customer Service
  • Behaviour Management
  • Risk Assessment
  • Camp Operations

Safety & Compliance

  • Conduct daily safety inspections.
  • Ensure classrooms are clean and organised.
  • Verify emergency procedures are followed.
  • Maintain first aid supplies.
  • Complete incident reports.
  • Conduct risk assessments when required.

Inventory & Equipment

  • Monitor camp supplies.
  • Request stock replenishment.
  • Ensure equipment is stored correctly.
  • Maintain inventory records.
  • Report damaged or missing equipment.

Administration

  • Prepare attendance records.
  • Complete daily operational reports.
  • Submit incident reports.
  • Maintain camp documentation.
  • Coordinate with Head Office regarding staffing and operations.

Event & Special Program Support

  • Support Open Days.
  • Assist with workshops.
  • Support holiday events.
  • Coordinate special camp activities.
  • Assist with birthday party operations when required.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree preferred.
  • Experience managing camps, enrichment centres, childcare or education programs.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Customer-focused attitude.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel between Newtonshow locations.

Languages

Required

  • English (fluent)

Highly Preferred

  • Russian
  • Ukrainian
  • Mandarin Chinese

Additional languages are an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid Certification
  • Child Protection Training
  • Fire Safety Training
  • Risk Assessment experience
  • Experience working with children aged 3-14
  • Experience managing large teams

Working Locations

The Camp Manager may be assigned to any Newtonshow Holiday Camp location in Singapore, including:

  • Novena
  • River Valley
  • Bukit Timah
  • East
  • Central
  • Astor International School
  • Outdoor Camp locations (including East Coast Park and excursion venues)

Travel between locations may be required based on operational needs.
