Element has an opportunity for a Calibration Officer / Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Senior Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
- Performs duties comparable to that of a Senior Technician, utilizing the added skills and knowledge that comes with earning an Associate's or bachelor's degree in a testing-related field
- Designs, sets-up and performs a variety of test according to customer specifications and requirements
- Requires very little supervision and technical input of a Department Manager, Principal Technician, Project Coordinator or Engineer
- Possess the ability to mentor and train technicians who have less experience through effective communication of technical data
- Ability to transfer technical knowledge/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer specifications
Requirement:
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety
- HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed
- Possesses a recognized scientific or engineering qualification, or significant experience in a testing related field through which an equivalent level of knowledge has been attained
- In-depth understanding of testing concepts for electronic and temperature calibration
- Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
- Possess strong computer skills
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
