DESCRIPTION:
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Sr Engineering Technician, where you'll contribute to maintaining and optimizing manufacturing processes that enable scientific discoveries. You'll work with advanced equipment and technologies to ensure smooth operations while adhering to quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in supporting manufacturing operations through equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives. You'll work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, implement engineering changes, and contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support problem solving effort that is related to instrument performance issues to identify / define and root cause, evaluate alternative solutions, and develop action plans.
  • Support the Installation, repair, adjust and calibrate indicating, recording, metering and controlling instruments, electronics and test equipment, used to control and measure variables.
  • Comply to the instrument maintenance procedures/SOPs and good documentation system to ensure quality assurance operations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing desired results/KPIs.
  • Complete training provided to build-up the competencies.
  • Support third-party vendor who is contracted to perform routine calibration, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and any other maintenance related activity.
  • Complete all routine maintenance works as scheduled and in compliance with Engineering standards and safety procedures.
  • All GMP documentation related to maintenance activities is completed accurately and processed to full completion in compliance to data integrity requirement.
  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the E&I supervisor, including but not limited to the above.

Requirements

  • NITEC or Diploma in Engineering related qualifications. Preferably in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation. Minimum 5 years with relevant experiences in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge in Maintenance and Calibration Processes and Standards.
  • Able to work rotating shift.
  • Some knowledge in utilities and Manufacturing system such as HVAC, Water For Injection, RO Generation & Distribution, Autoclave, Parts Washer, Filling & Capping Machine.
  • Able to work in a fast pace and a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of facilities systems related validation / GMP requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting skill and a good knowledge of different RCA tools.
  • Able to work independently.
