Job Summary
This role supports the production and assembly of moulded cable components by operating moulding equipment, preparing cables, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safe work practices.
Responsibilities
- Operate moulding machines by setting up, running, and performing basic troubleshooting to maintain production flow
- Prepare cables for moulding by cutting, stripping, crimping, and positioning components accurately
- Load connectors, wires, and moulding compounds into machines to ensure continuous operation
- Monitor production output and quality to maintain consistent standards
- Perform visual inspections and basic testing on finished products to identify defects
- Report defects or inconsistencies promptly to maintain product quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and equipment to support safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to support production tasks and process improvements
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in electrical, electronics, mechanical engineering, or related fields
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Basic understanding of cable assembly or manufacturing processes
- Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on production environment
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
- Good attention to detail and quality control
