Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially driven Buyer to support procurement activities for oil & gas / offshore projects. The role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services in compliance with project specifications, company policies, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Sourcing
- Execute end-to-end procurement activities (RFQ, evaluation, negotiation, award)
- Source suppliers for materials, equipment, and services (e.g., piping, valves, structural steel, MRO items)
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with project requirements
2. Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers
- Maintain and manage approved vendor lists (AVL)
- Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality, pricing)
3. Commercial Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract terms
- Ensure cost optimization while maintaining quality and compliance
- Support cost-saving and value engineering initiatives
4. Project Coordination
- Work closely with engineering, project, and QA/QC teams to ensure procurement aligns with project timelines
- Track and expedite deliveries to meet project deadlines
- Resolve procurement-related issues (delays, shortages, discrepancies)
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and oil & gas industry standards
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Support audits and ensure proper contract documentation
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 3-6 years of procurement experience, preferably in oil & gas, EPC, offshore, or marine industry
- Strong knowledge of technical procurement (e.g., mechanical, piping, electrical items)
- Familiar with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Good negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
