We're Hiring: Business Systems Analyst!

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving the delivery of strategic business and technology initiatives within Private Equity and Wealth Management environments.

The successful candidate will possess deep domain expertise in investment management, private markets, wealth management operations, and financial services platforms. This role will lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, solution definition, and stakeholder engagement across enterprise application and digital transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis capabilities with a solid understanding of investment operations, financial products, and technology delivery within complex financial services organizations.

What You'll Do:

Business Analysis & Requirements Management
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and solution specifications.
  • Lead requirement workshops, discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and business process reviews.
  • Ensure complete requirements traceability throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Support strategic initiatives involving investment platforms, portfolio management systems, client servicing platforms, reporting solutions, and operational workflows.

Wealth Management & Private Equity Domain Analysis
  • Work closely with front-office, middle-office, operations, compliance, risk, and technology teams to support business initiatives.
  • Analyze business processes related to:
    • Private Equity investments
    • Fund operations
    • Portfolio management
    • Wealth advisory services
    • Investment reporting
    • Client onboarding and servicing
    • Performance and financial reporting

  • Ensure business requirements align with regulatory, operational, and investment management standards.
  • Support enhancements and transformation initiatives across wealth management and investment management platforms.

Solution Delivery & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary interface between business users and development teams throughout project delivery.
  • Facilitate discussions between business and technology stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, priorities, timelines, and solution expectations.
  • Support solution design reviews and provide functional guidance to development and testing teams.
  • Participate in testing activities including test planning, UAT support, defect analysis, and solution validation.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies effectively.

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead business analysis activities across multiple projects and workstreams.
  • Mentor junior Business Analysts and promote best practices in requirements management and documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis methodologies, templates, and governance standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in Agile, hybrid, or traditional delivery environments.

Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with organizational governance, security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation standards and support audit and review activities where required.
  • Promote adherence to established project delivery and business analysis frameworks.

What We're Looking For:

Education
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, CFA, FRM, or Agile certifications are advantageous.

Experience
  • 8–10 years of Business Analysis experience within enterprise financial services environments.
  • Mandatory experience in both Private Equity and Wealth Management domains.
  • Proven experience supporting business transformation, system implementation, or digital initiatives within investment management organizations.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders, investment professionals, operations teams, and technology teams.

Functional Knowledge

Strong understanding of:

  • Private Equity operations and investment lifecycle
  • Wealth Management products and services
  • Portfolio management and investment reporting
  • Fund administration and investment operations
  • Client onboarding and servicing workflows
  • Financial data, performance reporting, and operational processes
  • Business process analysis and requirements management methodologies

Technical & Analytical Skills

Working knowledge of SQL, including:

  • Data retrieval and analysis
  • Aggregate functions
  • Table joins
  • Subqueries and conditional filtering
  • Basic data manipulation
  • Understanding of database structures, relationships, and data quality concepts

Experience with:

  • Enterprise applications and business platforms
  • SDLC methodologies and requirements traceability
  • Process mapping and workflow modelling
  • Agile delivery environments and user story creation
  • Data analysis and reporting tools

Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting investment management, portfolio management, CRM, or financial reporting platforms.
  • Exposure to digital transformation, automation, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of wealth management advisory platforms, alternative investment systems, or fund management applications.
  • Understanding of design thinking, systems thinking, and enterprise business architecture concepts.
