Business Management Support - Contract

About the Business
The client's department is one of the client organisation's five key businesses, dedicated to serving high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients globally. The business operates through two main divisions:
Division 1: UK and Crown Dependencies - Provides the full suite of banking, lending and investment services to HNW and UHNW clients based in the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man. This includes digital investing through smart investors.
Division 2: Private Bank International (PBI) - Serves UHNW clients and family offices outside the UK. Provides cross-border banking, investing and lending solutions, including access to the client's Corporate and Investment Bank.
The department is a key hub within PBI, serving UHNW clients and global family offices with complex, multi-jurisdictional needs. Positioned as the UK bank of choice for Asian UHNW clients, it leverages the client's global network and proposition to deliver institutional-quality investment solutions, bespoke financing, and access to the Corporate & Investment Bank.
Overall Purpose of the role
The role holder enables senior leaders to focus on strategic priorities by providing structure, clarity, and execution across the business. Acting as a strategic partner and operational enabler, the role bridges leadership vision and day-to-day delivery through strategic planning, governance, and operational oversight. Business Managers drive efficiency, manage resources, oversee the book of work, and support decision-making with insight and analysis while ensuring compliance and risk control
Key Accountabilities
Governance Support: Manage governance and risk oversight by coordinating agendas, briefing materials, and meeting packs for PB Singapore leadership forums track and close action items from planning sessions and monitor operational processes to ensure compliance with governance frameworks and policy standards.
Headcount Management: Track workforce data, monitor vacancies, and support hiring processes in coordination with HR and other Business Managers.
Financial Management: Assist with budgeting and forecasting by monitoring discretionary spend (e.g. travel, training, etc.)
Sales Pipeline Tracking: Maintain and update client pipeline data, ensuring accuracy for reporting and management reviews.
Operational Efficiency: Identify process improvements, streamline reporting, and implement best practices to enhance productivity.
Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with Business teams within PB and IB as well as support functions in COO and Functions to ensure alignment and timely delivery of priorities.
Oversight on Business Activities: Track and report key business activities spanning commercials, risk & control, and people & culture support the Head of PB Singapore and PB Singapore Chief of Staff on strategic initiatives, colleague engagement programs, and communications planning.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
The role holder works closely with the Head of PB Singapore, the PB Singapore CoS/BM, and the PB Singapore Management Committee to support delivery of business priorities. The role requires strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships, coordinate stakeholders, and communicate effectively across the Private Bank Business, COO, and Functions at multiple levels. It focuses on guiding workstreams, ensuring clarity and alignment, and driving timely execution through influence and effective stakeholder engagement.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
The role holder supports informed decision-making by providing analysis, insight, and structured recommendations to senior stakeholders. The role requires strong problem-solving skills to identify issues early, assess risks, and develop practical solutions that balance strategic objectives with operational realities. It involves synthesizing complex information, prioritising competing demands, and ensuring decisions are executed effectively and in alignment with business priorities.
Risk and Control Objective
The role holder helps maintain a strong risk and control environment for PB Singapore by ensuring compliance with the client's governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. The role supports risk identification, escalation, and remediation, engages with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams, and promotes a culture of accountability and operational excellence. All activities must align with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and the client's Policy Standards.
Essential Qualifications
Demonstrate strong understanding of Governance, Risk, and Reporting frameworks within a Private Bank or Financial Services environment.
Demonstrate strong organisational, planning, and project management skills able to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.
Demonstrate advanced Excel proficiency for data analysis, reporting, and financial modelling.
Demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships across multiple teams and levels.
Demonstrate high level of communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present complex information clearly using tools like PowerPoint.
Demonstrate experience in Private Banking or Wealth Management operations and strategy preferred.
Demonstrate familiarity with risk management practices and regulatory frameworks in financial services preferred.
Demonstrate exposure to business planning, financial governance, and performance reporting preferred.
Work Arrangement - Onsite/Structured hybrid role:
Colleagues who perform onsite roles will spend four or five days a week working onsite, depending on the requirements of their role and business area.
