We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BI Lead to drive the development and optimisation of our business intelligence strategy, with a specific focus on the buyer-facing e-commerce experience. The BI Lead will oversee data analysis, reporting, and visualization efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights that influence decision-making and product strategy. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for turning complex data into insights that enhance the customer journey. You will play a pivotal role in empowering product and business leaders to make informed, data-backed decisions that drive user engagement, conversion, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of BI analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Provide guidance on best practices, technical skills, and career development.
Product Analytics & Experimentation: Lead the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests for new buyer-facing features. Deliver clear insights on their impact to key top-line and bottom-line metrics, providing data-driven recommendations for product iteration.
BI Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive BI strategy that aligns with product and business objectives. Define the roadmap for analytics projects and platforms to support the optimization of the buyer experience.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to understand their data needs, gather requirements, and deliver insights that inform the product development lifecycle.
Dashboarding & Visualization: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of insightful and user-friendly dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, focusing on key product and user behavior metrics.
Advanced Predictive Analytics: Drive the adoption of advanced analytics to identify key business trends and opportunities. Key responsibilities include:
Developing and refining models to accurately predict Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) under different scenarios.
Analyzing and modeling how different promotion mechanics influence predicted buyer conversion and purchasing behavior.
Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all BI solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or any related fields
7 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, or product analytics.
3 years of proven experience in a leadership or management capacity, successfully leading a BI or analytics team with 10 or more members
Strong domain expertise in the e-commerce industry
Expert-level proficiency in SQL for complex querying and data manipulation.
Proven experience designing, executing, and analyzing large-scale A/B tests to measure impact on business metrics.
Experience with modeling Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and its application to business strategy
Strong ability to analyze and model the impact of various promotional mechanics on user conversion and behavior.
Extensive hands-on experience with major BI platforms (e.g. Tableau).
Experience with a programming language like Python or R for data analysis is a strong plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Proven business acumen and the ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
