About the role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a critical role on Finmo's go-to-market team. As the first point of contact in our sales pipeline, you will identify and engage high-potential prospects, qualify opportunities, and set Account Executives up for success across global markets. This role is instrumental in driving growth within both SME and enterprise segments.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting & Outreach

  • Research and identify ICP-aligned accounts and key stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Treasury functions
  • Execute targeted outbound prospecting via cold calls, LinkedIn, and personalised email campaigns
  • Tailor outreach messaging with relevant context, such as funding rounds, market expansion signals, or FX inefficiencies to maximise engagement

Qualification & Discovery

  • Conduct structured discovery calls to assess prospect pain points and determine product fit
  • Apply MEDDIC or equivalent qualification frameworks to ensure high-quality handoffs to Account Executives
  • Track and qualify Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and convert to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) in line with pipeline targets

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with Account Executives and Solutions Engineers to continuously refine outreach messaging and positioning
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in HubSpot CRM; track and report on key pipeline metrics and KPIs

Team Development

  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing by helping build and maintain internal playbooks and onboarding materials for junior SDR team members
  • Support the recruitment process for new SDR hires as business needs arise

Requirements

1) Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role, preferably in a B2B SaaS or fintech environment
  • Demonstrated track record of outbound prospecting and pipeline generation, even if gained through an internship or junior capacity
  • Exposure to working alongside Account Executives or within a structured GTM sales team is an advantage

2) Qualifications

  • A degree in any discipline is preferred. We are open to candidates without a formal degree who can demonstrate equivalent commercial acumen, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in fintech and B2B sales
  • Formal sales training or certifications (e.g. MEDDIC, Sandler, HubSpot Sales Certification) are a plus but not required

3) Technical Knowledge

  • Proficient in CRM tools; HubSpot experience strongly preferred; ability to maintain clean pipeline records and generate basic activity reports
  • Familiar with sales engagement platforms such as Outreach or SalesLoft for sequencing and multitouch outreach campaigns
  • Comfortable using LinkedIn Sales Navigator for prospect research, account mapping, and social selling
  • Basic understanding of fintech, payments, or treasury operations is a strong advantage; deep expertise is not required, but genuine curiosity about the space and the ability to learn quickly are essential

Our Commitment to Fairness

Finmo is an inclusive, people-first workplace that values merit and performance. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all and to fostering a work environment free from discrimination. We evaluate all candidates on the basis of merit, performance, and role fit without regard to age, race, gender, religion, marital status, disability, or any other characteristic unrelated to job performance. At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who are already authorised to work in Singapore.

We provide a supportive environment where our people can grow, contribute meaningfully, and thrive. All hiring decisions are made in accordance with applicable employment and fair employment laws in the country of hire.

Note: Submissions by recruitment agencies will not be accepted. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Thank you for your interest in pursuing a career with Finmo!
