Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and driving company growth within the construction industry. The role involves developing strategies to expand market presence, secure new projects, and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in construction projects
- Generate leads through networking, site visits, and industry contacts
- Maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors
- Prepare and submit proposals, quotations, and tenders
- Negotiate contracts and close deals
- Coordinate with project and operations teams to ensure project delivery
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments
- Achieve monthly and annual sales/business targets
- Attend meetings, exhibitions, and industry events
Job Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3-8 years experience in business development (construction industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, tendering, and project cycles
- Proven track record in securing projects or contracts
- Good network within construction / engineering sector
- Ability to read drawings and understand project specifications (added advantage)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Valid driving license (preferred for site/client visits)
- Willing to travel for meetings and site coordination
