Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives, drive new client acquisition, build strong partnerships, and help scale MEC's presence in Singapore and Myanmar markets. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial professional passionate about education, migration, and client-centric consulting services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to grow MEC's client base and revenue across all service lines (PR, citizenship, school placement, B2B services, etc.).

  • Conduct market research and analyse trends to identify new business opportunities, competitive landscape and target markets.

  • Monitor performance metrics, sales pipelines and conversion funnels to recommend improvements and achieve targets.

Lead Generation & Client Acquisition

  • Generate high-quality leads through market outreach, networking, partnerships and referrals.

  • Qualify prospects, manage sales process from initial contact to closing deals, and ensure conversion objectives are met.

  • Prepare compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.

Partnerships & Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with education institutions, recruitment partners, agencies, corporates and referral networks.

  • Serve as MEC's representative at events, education fairs, seminars, and networking gatherings to expand brand visibility.

  • Maintain regular communication with existing clients, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.

Collaboration & Internal Support

  • Work closely with Marketing to design campaigns, promotional content and engagement strategies.

  • Coordinate with Operations and Consultancy teams to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.

  • Report performance outcomes, insights and recommendations directly to senior leadership.

Brand Positioning

  • Strengthen MEC's brand reputation by delivering professional client experience and market excellence.

  • Provide market feedback to improve services, pricing or service packaging where needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • Experience in business development, sales or client partnerships, ideally in education, consultancy or migration services.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills - confident with B2B and B2C stakeholders.

  • Results-oriented with a proactive, self-driven mindset.

  • Ability to analyse market opportunities and deliver data-driven plans.

  • Excellent relationship management and networking capabilities.

  • Familiarity with Singapore & Myanmar markets, cultures, and relevant immigration/education pathways - advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Multi-lingual proficiency (English + Burmese) is a plus.
