Staple's primary product offers to interpret and extract data from documents and then reconcile this data between sources without the need for templates. As our client base grows, we are looking to onboard more talented individuals to join our elite team.

Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will extend the reach of our global business by cultivating new, untapped business relationships and opportunities in East Asia, including the territories of Hong Kong, Macau, the Philippines and South Korea. The ideal candidate will be trusted to dive into challenges, take the lead, use initiative and take ownership of opportunities with blue chip customer prospects.

The successful candidate should be highly skilled at sales and business operations. The candidate will be joining a team of like-minded, multi talented go-getters to achieve our company vision.

The objectives for this role include:

  • Developing new business opportunities and progressing the existing sales pipeline to close
  • Taking a lead role in developing new-business proposals and presentations that create and nurture opportunities and partnerships
  • Identifying trends and customer needs, building a sales pipeline for short/medium/long term in accordance with targets
  • Tracking performance, and reporting metrics on a regular basis according to the company's reporting requirements

This is a remote position based in Singapore, with requirements to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers, and meet regularly with managers and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Consistently generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select deals in line with strategies, and facilitate sales pitch
    • Identify and articulate business case to prospective customers
    • Demonstrate the company's solution to prospective customers
    • Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources
    • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations
    • Keep CRM up-to-date on a regular basis according to the requirements of the company.

Must have attributes:

  • Extensive experience working and developing the East Asia markets (Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, the Philippines)
  • Past experience working within a B2B software business development or sales team
  • Good organizational skills used in planning own work
  • A proven track record of working under pressure and meeting targets and deadlines
  • Organised and proactive in identifying problems, and formulating options for solutions
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to help customers and colleagues
  • Excellent communication and listening skills in both English and Cantonese. Native level for Mandarin is a plus
