Key Responsibilities
1. Product Costing & Analysis
- Prepare and maintain standard costing for finished goods and work-in-progress.
- Review and validate Bill of Materials (BOM), routing, and overhead absorption rates.
- Perform cost roll-ups and margin analysis for new and existing products.
- Conduct variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual budget preparation and periodic forecast updates.
- Monitor actual costs vs budget and highlight significant deviations.
- Assist in cost simulation and pricing support for new projects or quotations.
3. Inventory & Stock Control
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation in accordance with accounting standards.
- Lead and coordinate stock take exercises and cycle counts.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
4. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Support month-end closing activities related to costing and inventory.
- Prepare costing reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and corporate policies.
5. Process Improvement
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Drive automation and system enhancements in costing processes (e.g., ERP improvements).
- Support implementation of new costing modules or ERP upgrades.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Production and Engineering to validate production efficiency.
- Partner with Procurement on material price trend analysis.
- Provide financial insights to commercial team for pricing decisions.
