Job Description

Department: Business Development
Reporting To: Business Development Manager
Industry: Mechanical & Engineering Consultancy

Job Purpose

  • Support the growth and expansion of the company's mechanical and engineering consultancy services by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to strategic business development initiatives under the direction of the Business Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver professional proposals, expressions of interest (EOIs), presentations, and bids in coordination with technical teams.
  • Assist the Business Development Manager in implementing business development strategies and achieving sales and revenue targets.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, project management, and commercial teams to ensure client requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of leads, prospects, and opportunities using internal tracking tools.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and support account management to encourage repeat business.
  • Prepare regular business development reports, forecasts, and performance updates for management review.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in sales, marketing, or business development will be an advantage.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1- 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within an engineering, mechanical, consultancy, construction, or technical services environment. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Experience working in a consultancy or professional services firm is highly preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Basic understanding of mechanical and engineering consultancy services.
  • Good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent proposal writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
