Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification
- Conduct proactive market research to identify upcoming project pipelines in target sectors (Data Centres, Semiconductor, Healthcare, and Commercial/Mixed-Use).
- Synthesize market data regarding land sales, competitor activity, procurement trends, and government infrastructure plans into actionable business insights.
- Maintain a dynamic opportunity tracking system, ensuring the company engages with projects from the conceptual stage through to tender award.
- Advise management on market entry strategies and resource allocation based on long-term growth objectives.
2. Tender Pipeline & Pursuit Strategy
- Secure advance intelligence on tender opportunities prior to formal market release.
- Collaborate with Estimating, Operations, and Engineering teams to conduct rigorous Go/No-Go assessments.
- Spearhead the development of win strategies, leveraging competitor intelligence and market positioning to maximize bid competitiveness.
- Facilitate Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and pre-construction engagement initiatives to position Shimizu as the preferred partner.
3. Strategic Client Relationship Management
- Cultivate and sustain long-term relationships with developers, end-users, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor, facilitating ongoing dialogue regarding client business objectives and project requirements.
- Implement a structured client engagement program, ensuring consistent feedback loops to improve service delivery and increase repeat business.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Brand Representation
- Represent Shimizu Corporation at high-level industry events, conferences, and trade associations.
- Articulate and promote our core capabilities, including Design & Build, Digital Construction, Sustainability Solutions, and Advanced Construction Technologies.
- Maintain a robust network of influencers within government agencies, architectural firms, and project management consultancies.
5. Account Management & Issue Resolution
- Proactively manage the client experience throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as an internal advocate for clients, ensuring that feedback is communicated to Project Directors and Senior Management to drive continuous improvement.
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments to provide timely resolution for project-related concerns, safeguarding client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Experience: More than 5 years of proven experience in Business Development, Project Development, or high-level sales within the Construction, Engineering, or Property Development sectors.
- Market Knowledge: A deep, functional understanding of the Singapore construction landscape and procurement ecosystem.
- Network: A strong, existing network of relationships with Developers, Data Centre/Semiconductor operators, and project consultants is highly preferred.
