Job Description

The Business Analyst is responsible foridentifying business needs, analysing processes, and supporting the developmentof impactful solutions that improve operational efficiency and align withorganisational goals. This role involves gathering requirements, conductingmarket and user research, defining success measures, and collaborating closelywith cross‑functional teams throughout the solution development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Market Analysis

  • Conduct research to understand the business landscape, including market trends, competitor capabilities, and user behaviours.
  • Assess problem spaces, size opportunities, and recommend areas for strategic focus.
  • Review existing solutions and identify gaps, synergies, or enhancement possibilities.

2. Requirements Gathering & UserUnderstanding

  • Perform stakeholder interviews, workshops, and user research to capture needs, constraints, and expectations.
  • Synthesize insights into structured problem statements, business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure all requirements are traceable to business objectives and measurable outcomes.

3. Performance Metrics & DataInsights

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success measures for product and process changes.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track performance, monitor adoption, and surface insights.
  • Evaluate results post‑launch to identify improvement opportunities and recommend next steps.

4. Solution Evaluation & ImpactAssessment

  • Analyse the impact of proposed enhancements or changes, including resource requirements, feasibility, and dependencies.
  • Conduct cost‑benefit analysis to support prioritisation and sequencing decisions.
  • Identify risks and assist with mitigation planning.

5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, engineering, operations, and policy teams to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
  • Participate in solution design discussions to ensure business needs are accurately represented.
  • Support testing activities by validating feature behaviour against business rules and requirements.

6. Documentation & Communication

  • Produce clear, concise documentation including business requirements, process flows, user journey maps, and analysis reports.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and insights effectively to stakeholders through presentations and written reports.
  • Influence decision‑makers using data‑driven insights and structured reasoning.

Industry‑Standard Requirements &Criteria

Analytical & Technical Competencies

  • Proven experience in collecting, analysing, and synthesising data to generate actionable insights.
  • Strong capability in process analysis, workflow mapping, and requirements engineering.
  • Ability to build dashboards and reporting visualisations (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence).
  • Understanding of how APIs, data structures, and systems integrations work (no coding required).

Product & Project Delivery Skills

  • End‑to‑end experience working with product or project teams from discovery to release.
  • Skilled in facilitating workshops, managing stakeholders, and documenting business needs.
  • Experience supporting UAT planning and execution.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present ideas clearly and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to navigate differing viewpoints and build consensus.
  • High attention to detail, structured thinking, and strong problem‑solving abilities.

Behavioural Traits

  • Ability to work independently under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
  • Comfort adapting to evolving project needs, business conditions, and timelines.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and solution‑oriented mindset.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Product Management, Data Analytics, or related disciplines.
  • 2-5 years of experience in business analysis, product analysis, or process improvement roles.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI‑PBA, PSPO/CSPO, Agile/Scrum are advantageous.

Experience working in government, regulated industries, or enterprise environments.

Exposure to digital transformation, service design, or user experience research.
