Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Business Analyst for trade and communications surveillance initiatives supporting regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Front Office, Operations, and Technology teams to define surveillance use cases.
  • Participate in data mapping, user acceptance testing (UAT), and scenario validation.
  • Analyse current surveillance operations and design improved processes for alert generation, investigation, and reporting.
  • Support implementation and enhancement of surveillance tools, including vendor coordination and solution validation.
  • Engage stakeholders to identify, clarify, and document business needs using appropriate elicitation techniques.
  • Analyse and prepare data to improve consistency, accuracy, and usability across systems.
  • Build strong working relationships with business and technical stakeholders to secure alignment and approvals.
  • Partner with solution architects to ensure proposed designs are efficient and fit for purpose.
  • Lead or support workshops to explore solution options and refine business requirements into functional designs.
  • Support change management activities by providing inputs for stakeholder communication and training.
  • Assist in audits and regulatory reviews by ensuring clear documentation and traceability of requirements and controls.
  • Act as a point of contact during implementation, assisting users, resolving issues, and coordinating with vendors.

Requirements

  • Possessed Bachelor's degree or higher and Professional Business Analyst certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst role within financial services (asset management experience is a plus)
  • Familiarity with APAC regulatory environments is beneficial
  • Understanding of trade surveillance concepts, including market abuse and trading behaviour monitoring
  • Exposure to surveillance systems or vendors (e.g., Actimize, Smarsh, Behavox, SteelEye) is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
