RESPONSIBILITIES
THE ROLE: Business Analyst
The Business Analyst at Kaplan Singapore partners with academic, admissions, operations, marketing, and technology teams to translate business needs into clear requirements and data-driven solutions. The role supports digital transformation initiatives by analysing processes, systems, and student journeys to improve operational efficiency and learner experience. The Business Analyst ensures solutions align with Kaplan's strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and local market needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with academic, admissions, operations, and technology teams to define business problems and gather functional and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops (internal and external) to capture, validate, and translate stakeholder needs into practical, user-focused solutions.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure project milestones are on track, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and support the successful delivery of projects in line with agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards.
- Analyse, document, and visualise current and future business processes using tools such as LucidChart, Visio, Miro, or equivalent.
- Conduct gap analyses, impact assessments, and develop business cases to support process improvements and digital initiatives.
- Maintain end-to-end traceability of business requirements, from initial scoping through delivery and operationalisation.
- Support agile and waterfall project lifecycles, working closely with development teams (including Salesforce project stakeholders).
- Perform internal testing and coordinate and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users to validate business requirements.
- Stay informed on emerging AI initiatives across the organisation and identify opportunities to support and contribute to their adoption.
QUALIFICATIONS- Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Substantial experience as a Business Analyst across the full project lifecycle, preferably in education, services, or digital transformation contexts.
- Expertise in process mapping, business case development, and requirements management.
- Familiarity with business analysis tools such as Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in international or student-focused education environments.
- Professional certification in Business Analysis (e.g. BCS, IIBA).
- Working knowledge of ITIL and project methodologies such as Agile, SAFe, or Prince2.
- Previous involvement in safeguarding-sensitive or compliance-driven projects.
