Job Summary
We are seeking a high-calibre Business Analyst to support a strategic banking client in Malaysia. This role goes beyond traditional data extraction and reporting-it requires an individual who can understand business processes, interpret the meaning behind data, and proactively identify opportunities for operational and performance improvement. The Business Analyst will work across Sales, Service, and Operations functions, interfacing with business and technology stakeholders. The role involves gathering and documenting business requirements, analyzing enterprise data from multiple platforms, and delivering insights through automated reports and dashboards. Regular on-site engagement with the banking client is expected.
Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Process Understanding
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end business processes across Sales, Service, and Operations to identify operational impacts
- Analyze interactions among systems, data, and workflows to detect process gaps and inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements for assigned functional areas to support solution development
- Translate business needs into precise analytical, reporting, and automation specifications to guide technical teams
Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Extract and analyze data from SFDC, SAP, ServiceNow (SNOW), and other ITSM tools to support business decision-making
- Interpret data trends, patterns, anomalies, and root causes to generate actionable insights beyond raw data reporting
- Identify business risks, operational challenges, and performance improvement opportunities using data-driven analysis
- Present clear, concise findings and recommendations to both business and technical stakeholders to influence strategy
Reporting, Dashboards & Automation
- Design, develop, and maintain management reports and dashboards aligned with business objectives to enhance visibility
- Create automated reporting solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and data reliability across functions
- Build and update dashboards using Power BI and Tableau to support real-time business monitoring
- Perform advanced data analysis using Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling
- Automate recurring reports using scripting or automation tools to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a trusted analytical partner to banking stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust
- Collaborate closely with business users, IT teams, and management to refine requirements and validate deliverables
- Participate actively in client meetings and workshops, primarily virtual with occasional in-person sessions, to align on objectives and progress
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Prior experience supporting banking clients in the APJ region
- Understanding of ITSM frameworks and enterprise service environments
- Proficiency in Chinese language to facilitate client communication, enhancing collaboration and understanding
- Exposure to automation, scripting, or low-code/no-code reporting tools to support reporting efficiency
