Overview
The Business Analyst plays a key role in analysing, optimising, and supporting operational processes across the organisation. This role works closely with business stakeholders, operations teams, and technology teams to identify gaps, streamline workflows, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business & Process Analysis
- Analyse end-to-end operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Translate business needs into detailed business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and stakeholder discussions.
2. Operational Support
- Support daily operational activities by troubleshooting issues and providing solutions.
- Monitor operational metrics and analyse performance trends.
- Recommend corrective or preventive actions to ensure smooth operations.
3. Process Improvement & Optimisation
- Map current and future state processes (using BPMN or equivalent).
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce risk.
- Drive automation initiatives and digital transformation within operations.
4. Change Management
- Prepare operational teams for process and system changes through training, documentation, and communication.
- Support UAT planning, test case creation, defect management, and post-deployment reviews.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Partner with cross-functional teams including IT, Finance, Operations, Risk, and Compliance
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within operations, banking operations, shared services, or corporate functions.
- Strong understanding of operational processes such as onboarding, payments, reconciliations, settlements, or servicing (depending on domain).
- Proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
