Job Summary
You will supervise and coordinate subcontractor activities for MEP systems installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with discipline supervisors to align all work classes in the area for seamless execution
- Verify materials comply with project technical documents, codes, and specifications to ensure quality standards
- Monitor subcontractor labor productivity and quality jointly with project control to optimize performance
- Oversee subcontractor work execution to maintain project schedule and promptly address delays with corrective actions
- Collaborate with Field Superintendent, Construction Manager, and Field Project Engineer to review and approve modifications, issuing Sketches Layouts as needed
- Record approved modifications and notify Subcontract Administrator of contractual changes for documentation
- Prepare and submit Request of Work Execution (R.W.E.) forms for extra or modified work for approval before execution
- Ensure all required Work Permits are obtained prior to commencement of work
- Confirm subcontractors work from the latest drawings and technical documents in coordination with QA/QC leader
- Verify subcontractor manpower presence on site using reports, jointly with Subcontracting Manager
- Collect and approve subcontractor timesheets for hourly reimbursed work
- Prepare and review subcontractor weekly/monthly progress reports and submit data to Project Control
- Inspect work execution for compliance with technical documentation, quality plans, codes, and rules, authorizing installed quantities and initiating corrective actions for deficiencies
- Maintain daily log record book documenting site activities and issues
- Proactively ensure availability of engineering documents, materials, and work area access to prevent subcontractor delays and claims, coordinating with Project Control and Field Engineer
- Prepare, issue, and track Construction and Final Punch Lists, ensuring timely completion of outstanding works
- Organize and maintain work files, facilitating smooth handover to replacement supervisors when necessary
- Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of HVAC, electrical, ELV, fire protection, plumbing, and sanitary systems
- Coordinate MEP interfaces with civil, structural, and architectural disciplines to prevent clashes and rework
- Review MEP shop drawings, method statements, and inspection/test plans, supporting resolution of technical queries
- Verify MEP works comply with applicable codes, authority requirements, project specifications, and approved drawings
- Monitor MEP testing and commissioning activities, ensuring timely closure of defects and punch list items
Required competencies and certifications
- Proficient knowledge of local authority regulations related to construction
- Proficient in construction methodology
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the associated industry
- High-level communication skills in both written and spoken formats
