The Role:
You will be responsible for originating, structuring, and managing Bitcoin-backed secured loans with institutional clients such as Bitcoin miners, corporates, family offices, asset managers, hedge funds, trading firms and market makers and institutional funders such as Banks and specialist credit providers. You will craft bespoke financing solutions, lead deep client engagements, and partner closely with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Product teams to ensure robust credit governance. This role blends institutional client coverage and strategic financing insight.
Key Responsibilities:
BTC Loan Origination & Client Coverage
- Originate BTC-backed lending opportunities across Bitcoin miners, corporates, family offices, asset managers, hedge funds, trading firms and market makers and crypto-native businesses.
- Source and cultivate funding relationships with institutional capital providers, private credit investors, funds, family offices, liquidity providers and other strategic financing partners.
- Own senior client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on financing solutions, liquidity needs, and risk considerations.
- Build and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities through outbound origination, referrals, and network-driven sourcing.
Commercial Ownership
- Lead client negotiations on commercial terms while balancing competitiveness with disciplined risk-return outcomes.
- Source funding for the loan book including partnering with Banks and other specialist credit providers.
- Take ownership of transaction execution from initial discussion through documentation and closing.
Loan Lifecycle & Client Experience
- Oversee onboarding, documentation, custody setup, settlement, and disbursement processes.
- Ensure a seamless client experience across origination, execution, and ongoing servicing.
- Identify opportunities for refinancing, upsizing, renewals, and cross-sell within existing client base.
Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership
- Maintain strong awareness of BTC market structure, volatility regimes, liquidity conditions, and crypto credit dynamics.
- Track competitor offerings, pricing, and product structures in the BTC lending space.
- Use market insight to inform pricing discussions, client conversations, and internal product evolution.
Pipeline, Forecasting & Performance Management
- Maintain strong CRM discipline covering opportunities, deal stages, probability weighting, and activity tracking.
- Provide reliable revenue forecasts and pipeline reporting to management.
- Prioritise opportunities based on strategic value, probability, and risk-adjusted returns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Risk, Legal and Compliance to ensure documentation robustness and regulatory alignment.
- Coordinate with Operations on custody, settlement, margining workflows, and client reporting.
- Provide feedback to Product on client needs and opportunities to enhance the BTC lending offering.
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years experience in institutional lending, secured credit, structured finance, prime brokerage, or crypto credit origination.
- Demonstrable track record of closing secured institutional lending transactions, preferably with BTC or digital asset collateral.
- Strong understanding of collateral management, risk controls, margining, and liquidation mechanics in volatile markets.
- Deep institutional network with access to hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, asset managers, and crypto native institutions.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver compliant and scalable credit solutions.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to quantify risk, evaluate creditworthiness, and price risk appropriately.
- Excellent communicator and fluent in engaging C-suite and senior client stakeholders.
- High ownership, entrepreneurial spirit, and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment.
