The Role
TheBroker Operations Manageroversees core broking operations, ensuring accuracy and timely execution across all documentation and policy workflows. The role leads the operations team, sets clear operational standards, and maintains alignment with brokers, underwriters, and internal functions. This position requires a disciplined leader who upholds process integrity and workflow stability. The individual is accountable for consistent, high-quality service delivery across the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the Broker Operations team, defining expectations, overseeing workload distribution, and ensuring consistent delivery standards.
- Owning the full operational framework for documentation, renewals, endorsements, and policy processing, ensuring all activities are executed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintaining close coordination with brokers, underwriters, and internal functions to ensure operational readiness and seamless workflow execution.
- Managing escalations, resolving operational challenges promptly, and ensuring minimal disruption to business timelines.
- Implementing operational controls, standardizing procedures, and enforcing compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Overseeing the accuracy of system entries, policy updates, documentation records, and data integrity across broking platforms.
- Maintaining and updating operational resources, including templates, process documentation, and onboarding materials.
- Monitoring operational performance, identifying risk areas or gaps, and initiating corrective actions where necessary.
- Supporting the adoption of workflow enhancements and technology to strengthen efficiency, reporting, and operational transparency.
Ideal Profile
- 6+ years of experience in insurance broking operations, reinsurance operations, or financial services operations, with strong exposure to treaty or P&C or Employee Benefits workflows.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to set standards, manage output, and drive accountability within an operations team.
- High operational discipline, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive workflows simultaneously.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work directly with brokers, underwriters, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong command of documentation processes, operational systems, and reporting tools including Excel and other collaboration platforms.
- A structured, improvement-oriented mindset capable of enhancing processes and maintaining consistency across the team.
- The ability to remain composed and decisive under pressure while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
