Abou t the Role:
Brighton College (Singapore) is seeking an inspirational Teacher of English to play a leading role in delivering a worldclass English curriculum across the Senior School from August 2026. This appointment provides a pivotal opportunity to shape, elevate and champion the College's English provision as Brighton College (Singapore) continues its evolution from a firstclass Prep School into one of the region's leading allthrough schools, offering education from PreNursery to Year 13.
What you will be doing:
- Demonstrate the experience and ability to teach English Language and Literature across all relevant Key Stages (including IGCSE/GCSE and A-level).
- Take responsibility for the teaching, progress and attainment of timetabled pupils in English in Years 7 to 12 from August 2026, and for other senior year groups in the following years.
- Take responsibility for the teaching, progress and attainment of timetabled pupils in English Language Support (ELS) in Years 7 to 10.
- Work collaboratively on aspects of Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 curriculum planning and delivery.
- Work collaboratively on aspects of assessment, tracking and reporting for English.
- Promote excellence, creativity and innovation in all areas of the English curriculum.
- Promote a culture of reading through initiatives such as reading lists, book clubs, author visits, competitions and literary events.
- Act as an outstanding classroom practitioner, with the ability to lead by example.
- Devise and implement rigorous self-evaluation processes.
- Support pupils during key transition points, particularly Year 67 and Year 1112, ensuring continuity in literacy and analytical skills.
- Demonstrate the experience and expertise needed to support pupils aspiring for Literature places at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge and other world-class universities.
- Work closely with the Heads of EAL and AEN to develop pathways for pupils requiring additional support.
- Contribute to the highest standards of safeguarding and to the school's pastoral system, acting as a tutor for a Senior School year group.
- Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
- Undertake any other reasonable management requests in support of the school's mission, vision, and values.
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in English, with PGCE or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering Mathematics GCSEs/IGCSEs and A-levels (essential).
- Proven track record of Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 English teaching.
- Experience of teaching English Language Support (ELS) (preferred).
- International school experience (preferred).

- An international outlook and understanding of working in diverse environments.
