BMS & Building Automation Engineer
Contract: 1 Year
We are looking for a BMS & Building Automation Engineer to support the implementation, integration, commissioning and maintenance of Building Management Systems within a large-scale facilities environment.
The role requires hands-on experience in BMS and building automation, ideally with exposure to Tridium Niagara / Niagara 4, system integration and building control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, commission, maintain and troubleshoot Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Implement and support control and monitoring systems using Niagara Framework / Niagara 4.
- Integrate BMS with building systems and equipment including controllers, sensors and actuators.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, networking and system integration issues.
- Work with building automation communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus and KNX.
- Monitor and optimise building systems including HVAC, lighting and energy management systems.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning and verification to ensure systems meet design and operational requirements.
- Prepare and maintain system documentation, configuration records, maintenance logs and project reports.
- Support BMS projects from planning and implementation through testing, commissioning and completion.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, facilities teams and other technical stakeholders.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones and technical issues and provide regular progress updates.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- Around 5 years of relevant experience in BMS, building automation, controls or system integration.
- Experience with Tridium Niagara / Niagara 4 is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with BACnet and Modbus exposure to KNX would be advantageous.
- Hands-on experience in BMS configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting and system integration.
- Good understanding of HVAC systems, lighting controls and/or energy management systems.
- Knowledge of networking, databases and SQL would be advantageous.
- Experience with JACE or other Niagara-based platforms would be an advantage.
- Niagara certification or relevant building automation/control certification is highly desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, vendors and multidisciplinary technical teams.
