BIM Technician

Job Title: BIM Technician (Electrical)

Job Description & Duties

The BIM Technician (Electrical) will support the development and coordination of Building Information Modelling (BIM) for electrical systems in construction projects.

Key duties include:

• Prepare and update BIM models for electrical systems (e.g., lighting, power, cable containment, ELV systems) using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD

• Assist in coordination of electrical BIM models with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines

• Perform basic clash detection using Navisworks and report coordination issues

• Produce shop drawings, single-line diagrams, and as-built drawings for electrical works

• Ensure drawings and models comply with project specifications and authority requirements

• Support engineers in design development and drafting tasks

• Maintain proper documentation and version control of BIM models and drawings

• Attend coordination meetings and assist in resolving design discrepancies

• Liaise with site teams to update models based on site conditions

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• Diploma or ITE qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in BIM modelling or drafting for electrical services

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD

• Basic knowledge of Navisworks is preferred

• Understanding of electrical systems and construction drawings

• Familiarity with BIM standards such as ISO 19650 is an advantage

• Detail-oriented with strong drafting accuracy

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced project environment
