Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented BIM Modeller specializing in Precast Concrete. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D models andgenerating precise shop drawings for manufacturing. You will act as a keytechnical link, coordinating with Main Contractors, Consultants, and internalproduction teams to ensure seamless manufacturing and site installation.
KeyResponsibilities:
- BIM Modelling & Development: Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for precast components (e.g., walls, slabs, columns, beams, staircases) primarily using Tekla Structures.
- Shop Drawing Preparation: Extract and prepare accurate shop drawings for manufacturers. Incorporate critical details including reinforcement (rebar), M&E openings/recesses, architectural features, cast-in items, and lifting systems.
- Coordination & Collaboration: Liaise with Main Contractors and Consultants to gather necessary project information. Review architectural, structural, and M&E drawings to identify discrepancies, raise queries, and resolve conflicts before production.
- Clash Detection: Perform clash detection between precast elements and other disciplines (MEP, Architectural, Structural). Ensure all designs are manufacturable and clash-free prior to site delivery.
- Production: Liaise with internal departments to provide production-ready drawings.
- Standards & Quality Control: Collaborate with internal/external BIM teams to establish and maintain standards and details. Ensure all work adheres to local building codes and the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior modellers and assist in developing Tekla components specific to precast workflows.
JobRequirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of general BIM modelling experience, with at least 2 years specifically focused on Precast Concrete.
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Tekla Structures. Essential proficiency in AutoCAD
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of precast manufacturing processes, connection details, structural reinforcement, and lifting systems.
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight production deadlines in a fast-paced environment
