Job Description:
KZ Trading, a Singapore-based physical commodity trading company specializing in zinc, lead, and aluminum, is seeking a highly experienced Base Metals Junior Trader to drive profitability and expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of independently generating P&L, a strong network of suppliers and customers, and expertise in LME hedging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Profit Generation: Independently generate P&L through physical base metals trading (copper, aluminum, zinc, lead, non ferreous scrap preferred. Other base metals can be considered).
- Market Development: Leverage existing supplier and customer relationships to expand the company's trading business into its non-core products
- Market Coverage: Support the company's zinc and lead marketing whenever required and/or in assigned market, assisting in trade execution and market insights when needed.
- Hedging & Risk Management: Utilize LME hedging strategies to manage market risks effectively.
- Business Expansion: Identify and develop new commercial opportunities while leveraging on the company's wide sales network
- Negotiation & Contracts: Structure, negotiate, and execute trades, ensuring profitable and compliant transactions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, finance, and risk management teams to optimize trade execution and financial performance.
- Industry Insights: Stay updated on global market trends, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics to inform trading strategies.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in physical base metals trading, with a strong track record
- Established supplier and customer network, with the ability to originate and execute trades independently.
- Deep understanding of LME hedging and risk management techniques.
- Strong commercial acumen, deal-making skills, and ability to navigate complex market conditions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently while collaborating with the broader trading team.
