Overview
As the Bartender Supervisor, you will oversee daily bar operations and ensure smooth service delivery, maintaining high standards in beverage preparation, presentation, and customer service. You will supervise the bar team, manage inventory, and contribute to the creation of new cocktails and beverage programs. This role requires strong bartending skills, leadership ability, and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Bar Operations & Service
- Oversee daily bar setup, operations, and closing procedures.
- Ensure consistency in drink preparation, quality, and presentation.
- Uphold hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards at the bar.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve service issues promptly.
2. Team Supervision & Training
- Lead and supervise bartenders and barbacks during shifts.
- Train new bar staff on drink recipes, service standards, and safety protocols.
- Provide coaching and feedback to maintain a high-performing team.
- Assist in staff scheduling to ensure sufficient coverage.
3. Beverage Menu & Promotions
- Support the development of new cocktails and seasonal beverage offerings.
- Assist with bar promotions, events, and activations in collaboration with management.
- Maintain product knowledge of wines, spirits, beers, and cocktails to recommend to guests.
4. Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and storage of supplies.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and minimize wastage.
- Ensure accuracy in POS entries and adherence to pricing.
5. Reporting & Administration
- Prepare shift reports on sales, issues, and staff performance.
- Report maintenance, supply, or staffing needs to Bar Manager / F&B Manager.
- Support compliance with liquor licensing laws and workplace regulations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of bartending experience, with 1-2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beers.
- Leadership and team management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service is an advantage.
