Job Description

Primary Role:

In charge of all baked goods and desserts. Be the Director of Quality by ensuring highest quality foods are prepared and served.

Essential Functions:

1. KITCHEN PRODUCTION:

  • Designing and improving recipes.
  • Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, etc.
  • Decorating and displaying finished products.
  • Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls.
  • Greeting customers, answering questions, making recommendations, accepting orders and payments and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Keeping records relating to deliveries, inventory, and production levels.
  • Taking client information and ensuring that deliveries are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.

2. BAKING FROM SCRATCH WITH LOVE: Baking with passion and love is essential to food quality that represents our client and leading the brand. Whenever humanly possible, always use fresh, seasonal ingredients and bake from scratch. A Baker's main duty is preparing baked goods and desserts for the Café and serving of daily meals, followed by kitchen support and shift relief.

3. ATMOSPHERE: To keep the kitchen atmosphere looking fun and inviting. To keep signage and displays up to date. To work efficiently, keeping your station organized and clean.

4. TRAINING EXPERIENCE: In charge of all staff training, make sure all new staff are receiving proper attention and follow proper procedures for handling baked items and desserts.

5. FOOD COSTS: Monitor kitchen to ensure proper use of product and inventory control while keeping waste to a minimum (under 2%). Make sure there is no theft by staff or students. Perform monthly inventory with the Kitchen Manager. Maintain baking recipes and ensure all items are sold at 30% or lower Food Cost.

6. SAFETY & SECURITY: Maintain a safe work environment for all staff and guests. Secure kitchen during non- operating hours. Keep food samples based on SOP and adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.

7. COMPANY VISION: Understand and deliver company's vision and operational objectives. Adhere to and have knowledge of all company (SOP) policies & procedures.

  • At least 3 years of baking experience
