- Prepare and bake a variety of products such as breads, cakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers.
- Monitor baking process to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards and specifications.
- Check freshness of ingredients and finished products.
- Maintain consistency in product presentation and portion sizes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards.
- Assist in inventory control, including stock rotation (FIFO) and reporting shortages.
- Work closely with kitchen staff and supervisors to meet production targets.
- Assist in new product preparation and seasonal menu items.
- Support other kitchen duties during peak periods when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a bakery or food production environment.
- Relevant certification in baking, culinary arts, or food safety is an advantage.
- Knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
- Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to stand for long hours and work early shifts.
- Able to lift heavy ingredients (e.g., flour bags).
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts if required.
