Role SummaryResponsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise backup and storage infrastructure to ensure data protection, system reliability, and high service availability.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and support enterprise backup environments using Veritas NetBackup (Master/Media Servers).
- Manage backup appliances, storage systems, and backup repositories.
- Configure and maintain Data Domain systems and deduplication technologies.
- Operate and support tape backup infrastructure and libraries.
- Manage cloud-based backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Azure Recovery Services Vault).
- Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure SLA compliance.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across backup, storage, SAN, and tape environments.
- Support SAN infrastructure and address connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve incidents and implement solutions.
- Follow ITSM/ITIL processes including incident, change, and problem management.
- Prepare operational reports and recommend improvements.
- Provide on-call support and handle escalations when required.
Skills & Requirements- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 510 years of experience in backup and storage administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup.
- Experience with Data Domain systems and backup technologies.
- Knowledge of tape backup systems and operations.
- Familiarity with cloud backup solutions (e.g., Azure).
- Experience with SAN environments and storage connectivity.
- Working knowledge of Unix, Linux, and Windows systems.
- Basic scripting/automation skills for backup operations.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
