Job brief

We are looking for a Hostel Management Trainee to help manage and run our hostel businesses, improve our brand value, and provide a memorable stay to the guests we host.

The role is multi-faceted. It will improve your skills in customer service, financial management, marketing, and guest experience. It would be great if you are a fellow backpacker at heart, but it's not a pre-requisite.

We are looking for someone who is down-to-earth, with a bright personality, enjoys different culture, and a team player. Join us as we expand our brand and team both locally and abroad!

Company Description

  • We run four backpacker hostels in Singapore, and a fifth hostel in downtown Bangkok.
  • We are a youthful team who loves backpacking, travel, and meeting people from all sorts of background, culture, and language!
  • We have been doing this for almost 10 years now and loving everyday of it!

Responsibilities

  • Perform all check-in and check-out tasks including cashier duties.
  • Welcome and register guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
  • Provide information about our hostel, available rooms, rates and amenities. Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate.
  • Respond to feedback and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Communicate with housekeeping & maintenance department to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and functional to accommodate guests needs
  • Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
  • Manage reservations and liaising with OTA account managers
  • Assist in the administrative and marketing aspects of the company
  • Enhance Guest Experience through hosting in-house activities and external collaborations

Requirements

  • Singaporeans / PRs
  • Fresh graduates and entry level are welcomed!
  • Work experience as a Hostel Front Desk Officer or similar e.g. Customer Service roles is a plus
  • Experience with hotel reservations softwares and OTAs (Booking.com, etc.) is a plus
  • Education in hotel management is a plus
  • Customer service attitude
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Required to work shift work and weekends
