Backend Engineering Manager

Job Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of backend systems with a strong focus on data compliance and multi-region architecture.

2. Drive technical strategy and execution for overseas marketing systems (mainly Klaviyo), ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and compliant.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, refine requirements, and deliver impactful technical solutions.

4. Ensure production stability through proactive monitoring and rapid incident response.

5. Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing backend engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and technical excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

1. 8+ years of backend development experience with solid system design and implementation skills.

2. Proficient in Python, Go, or Java; familiar with relevant frameworks and development tools (e.g., Git, IDEs).

3. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud ecosystem (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch).

4. Proven ability to lead end-to-end projects with strong ownership and accountability.

5. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in ensuring production reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in data compliance, marketing automation, or multi-region architecture projects.

2. Prior experience managing or mentoring engineering teams.

3. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices.

4. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business goals into technical strategy.
