Backend Engineer/Software Engineer (High-Growth Product Company, Engineering-driven team)

My client is a tech-driven company building scalable, production-grade systems that support real-world, high-traffic applications. The Role:

As a Backend Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain core backend services that power business-critical systems. You will work on distributed systems at scale, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with product, platform, and infrastructure teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in production environments.
• Own end-to-end delivery of backend features, from technical design to deployment and monitoring.
• Participate in system architecture discussions, including scalability, reliability, and performance trade-offs.
• Optimize existing systems for throughput, latency, stability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.

Job Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, including concurrency, data consistency, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL) and message queues and streaming systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
