Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud-based backend services.
- Own backend deliverables and collaborate closely with cross-functional development teams.
- Design and implement business logic using appropriate data structures and algorithms.
- Build, test, document, and deploy APIs, integrations, and batch jobs.
- Ensure high code quality through test-driven development and design for testability.
- Apply DevOps best practices to enable automated testing, CI/CD, and deployments.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers.
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong programming fundamentals with solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Proven experience in backend system design and distributed architectures.
- 4+ years of backend development experience for production systems (preferably Go).
- Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP and cloud-native services (2+ years).
- Experience with SQL databases, schema design, and performance optimisation.
- Familiarity with Redis or other in-memory data stores.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of scalability, high availability, and resilient system design.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in complex systems.
- Experience contributing to or working with open-source projects.
- Self-driven mindset with continuous learning attitude.
