Role Overview

The Azure Data Architect will design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role involves defining data architecture strategies, ensuring compliance with best practices, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade data platforms with a strong focus on cloud governance and security.

Key Responsibilities

. Design end-to-end data architecture leveraging Azure services (Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Databricks, etc.).

. Define data modeling standards and implement optimized data storage solutions.

. Develop strategies for data integration, migration, and transformation using Azure Data Factory and related tools.

. Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

. Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into architectural solutions.

. Optimize performance and cost efficiency of data solutions.

. Stay updated with Azure advancements and recommend improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

. Proven experience in data architecture and solution design on Azure.

. Strong knowledge of Azure services: Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Event Hub, and Cosmos DB.

. Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Spark for data engineering tasks.

. Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks.

. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

. Preferred: Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect certification.

Experience

. 8+ years in data engineering/architecture roles.

. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure data services.

Preferred Certifications & Tools

. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

. Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

. Experience with Power BI, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center
