AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, operate, and support cloud environments at scale. This role involves managing AWS services, supporting cloud projects in regulated environments, and improving reliability, security, and automation in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and support AWS cloud environments to ensure stability, performance, and security

• Manage and maintain core AWS services including compute, storage, networking, and identity

• Support delivery of cloud infrastructure projects from implementation to operational handover

• Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions

• Apply cloud security best practices, including access control and identity management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues

• Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure-as-Code tools

• Maintain clear technical documentation and operational procedures

Requirements

• Strong experience operating AWS cloud environments at scale

• Hands-on knowledge of AWS services such as:

  • EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch

• Good understanding of:

  • Networking concepts

  • Cloud security best practices

  • Identity and access management

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Able to work independently and collaboratively on complex cloud initiatives

• Good communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly

Advantageous Skills & Certifications

• AWS certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or equivalent)

• Experience with automation and configuration management tools:

  • CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or similar

• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration:

  • Docker, Kubernetes
