Job Description
Role Summary
You will represent the group in engagements with government agencies, regulatory bodies and key external stakeholders to facilitate and navigate policy, regulatory and legislative developments that may impact business and growth priorities.
The role requires you to be the group's ambassador, with strong public affairs and stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to play an active behind-the-scenes role with a high degree of personal and professional integrity and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Promote, represent and enhance the company's reputation internally and externally with industry counterparties, banks and government bodies.
- Monitor policy, regulatory and legislative developments relevant to the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Provide analysis and insights on the potential business impact of these developments to management.
- Identify and foster relationships with senior policymakers, regulators and legislators.
- Develop and execute stakeholder engagement programmes with regulators, policymakers, legislators, trade and industry bodies, and other influential third parties.
- Proactively identify opportunities to engage with external stakeholders and relevant public sector organisations.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in government, public policy, regulatory affairs, public affairs, external affairs or stakeholder engagement roles.
- Strong understanding of public policy, regulatory frameworks and legislative processes.
- Professional integrity and discretion.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Analytical, results-oriented and highly effective execution capabilities.
- Organisational and political agility, with strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Relations, International Trade & Finance, Economics, Business, Technology, Public Policy or a related discipline.
