The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan's leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Purpose Of The Role

As part of Singlife's Propel Product Management team, you will support Financial Advisory (FA) firms by delivering robust insurance product due diligence and insightful product comparisons across life insurance solutions.

This role sits at the intersection of product expertise, regulatory understanding, and data-driven analysis.

Responsibilities

If you enjoy working in a dynamic team to make a difference, then this is what you can expect in this role:

  • Prepare comprehensive insurance product due diligence for FA firms Product Committee that aligns with internal product governance and regulatory expectations
  • Maintain and update a suite of product comparisons
  • Prepare presentation decks on product comparisons for engagements
  • Perform product management activities relating to product onboarding, offboarding, and changes, including coordinating with relevant FA stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and documentation updates
  • Provide subject matter expertise in product-related areas
  • May also be assigned to perform other responsibilities under the Product Management team

Experience & Technical Skills

  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in the Financial/ Insurance industry preferred
  • Good working knowledge of life insurance products (e.g. protection, savings, ILPs, Indexed UL)
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in relation to insurance products
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel preferred)
  • Exposure to data analytics, automation tools, or AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, workflow automation, document comparison tools) is an advantage

Education

  • A degree or relevant professional qualifications in finance, business, insurance, or related disciplines will be advantageous
