We are seeking an experienced AVP / Head, International Business Development to drive international growth for a global technology and engineering organisation. This senior role focuses on expanding presence in new international markets, strengthening existing regions, building strategic partnerships, and securing international business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify international market opportunities and build a strong opportunity pipeline for the Line of Business.
- Develop and execute market entry and expansion strategies across target regions.
- Prepare business plans including market strategies, risk assessments, and financial forecasts.
- Secure international contracts and achieve business and revenue targets.
- Build and manage relationships with customers, partners, distributors, and local authorities.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships.
- Track tenders, RFIs, and procurement opportunities.
- Represent the organisation at international industry events and forums.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, legal, operations, product) to support international initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and monitor geopolitical and market risks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in international business development or sales, preferably in technology/IT.
- Strong understanding of global markets, trade regulations, and cross-cultural business practices.
- Track record of driving international revenue growth.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic, results-driven, and able to operate independently.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
