Job Summary
A growing financial services institution is seeking a Compliance professional to support AML/CFT, KYC, onboarding, and financial crime monitoring activities. This role involves quality review, regulatory monitoring, and assisting with broader compliance projects.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve onboarding and KYC files to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support front office teams on AML/KYC matters
- Analyze transaction-monitoring and screening alerts to identify suspicious activities, escalating and filing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) as required
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sanctions and regulatory updates from MAS, FATF, OECD, and other relevant bodies to ensure compliance
- Conduct independent quality reviews of onboarding processes, periodic reviews, and monitoring outputs to uphold compliance standards
- Track regulatory changes and collaborate on enhancements to policies, controls, and procedures to mitigate financial crime risks
- Prepare AML and compliance dashboards to provide clear insights for enterprise-wide risk assessments
- Support compliance projects, audits, regulatory examinations, and training initiatives to strengthen the institution's compliance framework
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to facilitate compliance activities and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
Required competencies and certifications
- Demonstrated AML/KYC or financial crime compliance experience within financial services (2-6 years)
- Strong knowledge of MAS AML/CFT requirements and KYC/CDD standards
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Proficiency in MS Office applications to support reporting and documentation
- Strong analytical skills to assess compliance risks and organize work under tight deadlines
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across teams
- Ability to work independently and proactively while contributing as a team player
