Mizuho Bank is seeking experienced compliance professionals to join its regional compliance team to manage compliance risk for the Asia-Pacific region. The APAC General Compliance Team is responsible for overseeing the monitoring of general compliance matters across APAC offices. The role provides regional oversight to promote consistent implementation of compliance standards and support the APAC offices with general compliance advisory on a wide range of topics, develop guidance to strengthen the overall compliance culture and control environment across the region. The role will work closely with local Compliance teams, regional functions, and global stakeholders to drive consistency in general compliance practices.

Job Responsibilities
- Monitor the effectiveness of general compliance controls and governance arrangements across APAC offices
- Promote consistent implementation of regional and global compliance policies, standards and procedures
- Review periodic compliance reporting from APAC offices and escalate material issues where appropriate
- Support the APAC offices in the implementation of strategic, operational, regulatory and transformation projects
- Provide general compliance training to APAC offices as required
- Support the team to design, develop and maintain regional compliance guidance, procedures, standards and toolkits to support APAC offices, including on areas such as general compliance risk management, regulations management, information control, data privacy
- Support other regional functions to coordinate with local Compliance teams on local requirements for various technology, operational, human resource etc related projects
- Provide on-site support in APAC offices as required
- Build strong and effective relationships with stakeholders across different functions and APAC offices
Job Requirements
- At least 8-10 years of experience in compliance, legal or other controls related function in the financial services industry
- Knowledge and expertise in the design and implementation of compliance programmes
- Good understanding of banking products, services and processes
- Strong technical compliance expertise and understanding of corporate governance
- Highly motivated team player
- Strong analytical, communication and people skills, ability to lead, influence and collaborate with people across different cultures and backgrounds
- Adaptable, resilient and passionate about making a difference
- Strong attention to detail
- Subject matter expert, experience dealing with complex issues, forward-looking, solutions-oriented, ability to be hands-on
