Your Job

We are seeking an Engineer, Automation (Vision) to design, develop, and implement automation solutions that enhance manufacturing capability, efficiency, and product quality. This role plays a key part in advancing molding automation through machine design, robotics, and new manufacturing technologies.

Our Team

You will be part of the Automation & Assembly team, working closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Maintenance, QA, Operations, Product Design, and global Molex teams. You will also engage external vendors and suppliers on automation and machine development projects.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop automation equipment, robotic systems, and machine controls to improve productivity, efficiency, and flexibility in molding operations
  • Conceptualize semi‑automatic and fully automated molding assembly processes with quality and cost considerations
  • Lead automation projects from specification, vendor sourcing, design review, testing, qualification (SPC), to final implementation
  • Develop electrical design and control systems for new and existing machines
  • Perform design reviews, FMEA, and lessons‑learned to minimize risks and improve robustness
  • Drive cost reduction, yield improvement, and machine utilization performance
  • Support molding, stamping, and plating teams to ensure stable production and on‑time delivery
  • Prepare technical documentation, tooling spare lists, and provide training to engineers, technicians, and operators
  • Share best practices, new ideas, and lessons learned across teams locally and globally
  • Ensure all activities comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards
  • Support other teams during urgent workload requirements as assigned

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in automation, precision engineering, or connector manufacturing
  • Experience in machine design, robotic handling, and automation systems
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and adapt to change

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in high‑speed precision automation and machine control
  • Knowledge of connector manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, plating)
  • Vision programming and vision inspection system experience
  • Innovative mindset in robotics and machine design
