Job Description:
MSSG is looking for a highly motivated Automation & Efficiency Developer to design and deliver automation solutions that drive operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve reliability across multiple business areas.
The role focuses on end-to-end automation, using the most appropriate tools and technologies. This includes RPA, but is not limited to it. The emphasis is on outcomes and efficiency, not tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation & Development
- Design, build, and support automation solutions to remove manual and repetitive work.
- Use a mix of technologies such as RPA tools, Scripts, APIs, System integrations
- Choose the right automation approach based on the problem, not defaulting to RPA.
Process Improvement
- Work closely with business and operations teams to:
- Understand existing processes;
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks; and
- Redesign processes before automating
- Challenge unnecessary steps and manual controls
RPA Development (as part of the role)
- Build and maintain RPA bots where RPA is the right solution.
- Ensure bots are: Stable, Secure, Well-logged, Easy to support
- Support production RPA processes and resolve failures.
Testing, Deployment & Support
- Perform testing and support UAT for automation solutions.
- Deploy solutions into production and support them post go-live.
- Work with support teams to ensure smooth handover and documentation.
Governance & Controls
- Ensure automation solutions meet security, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain documentation, audit trails, and exception handling.
- Follow development and change management standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Improve existing automations for performance and resilience.
- Identify opportunities to standardise and reuse components.
- Stay current with automation tools and techniques.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 4 years experience in software development, automation, or process improvement roles.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools, including RPA platforms (UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, or similar).
- Experience with scripting or programming (e.g. Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar)
- Experience with working with files, databases, or APIs
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work closely with business and operations teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
- Exposure to system integration and APIs.
- Understanding of operational risk and controls.
- Experience supporting automation in production.
- Outcome-focused and practical

- Good communicator with technical and non-technical teams
