Automation Developer

We are looking for an Automation Developer with experience in Playwright (TypeScript) and Karate (Java) to design, build, and maintain automated test solutions for web and API applications. The role works closely with quality assurance, software development, and DevOps teams to support reliable and high-quality software delivery through effective test automation.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks for web and API testing using Playwright (TypeScript) and Karate (Java).
Create reusable automation components, data-driven test scripts, and supporting utilities.
Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Bitbucket.
Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and log defects using test management or issue-tracking tools (e.g. JIRA).
Work collaboratively with QA and development teams to identify test coverage gaps and improve test effectiveness.
Prepare and maintain automation documentation, including test plans, test cases, and execution reports.
Support regression and performance testing activities where required.
Ensure automation solutions follow good coding practices and are maintainable, scalable, and well-documented.

Required Skills and Experience

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in automation testing (typically 2-5 years).

Hands-on experience with:

• Playwright using TypeScript or JavaScript for web UI automation
• Karate framework using Java for REST API automation
• Understanding of API testing concepts such as HTTP methods, authentication mechanisms, and JSON/XML payloads.
• Experience using version control tools such as Bitbucket.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills (Advantageous):

• Experience in test data preparation and management. Familiarity with API tools such as Postman and Swagger. Exposure to performance testing tools or concepts (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Experience working in containerized or cloud environments (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, or GitLab.
