Job Summary
The AutoCAD Drafter is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed technical drawings based on engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements. The role supports engineering and project teams by producing drawings for submission, fabrication, installation, and construction purposes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drafting & Design
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD based on design inputs and mark-ups.
- Develop isometric drawings, layout drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings
- Revise drawings according to engineers and clients comments
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, codes, and standards
2. Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with engineers, project teams, and subcontractors for drawing clarifications
- Maintain proper documentation, drawing registers, and revision control
- Update drawings based on site changes and red-line markups
- Ensure timely submission of drawings to meet project deadlines
3. Technical Support
- Assist engineers in quantity take-offs and material estimation (if required)
- Prepare and maintain drawing registers and version control records
- Provide drawing-related technical support to the site team
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related discipline
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D drafting) and Navisworks (BIM coordination)
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings, symbols, and drafting standards
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, layout drawings, and technical specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Skills
- Experience in piping or MEP drafting
- Knowledge of REVIT, BIM, or other drafting/modelling software is an advantage
- Familiarity with project submission requirements and construction workflows
