We are partnering with an established professional services firm in Singapore to set up a new audit practice as part of its next phase of growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and lead an audit function from the ground up, with strong support from an existing client base and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and development of the audit practice in Singapore, including processes, methodology, and compliance framework
- Act as the signing Public Accountant, responsible for audit opinions and regulatory compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Singapore Standards on Auditing (SSA), ISQM 1, and independence requirements
- Oversee end-to-end audit engagements across a portfolio of clients (primarily SMEs and growing enterprises)
- Establish and maintain robust audit quality control systems in line with ACRA requirements
- Prepare the firm for and manage ACRA Practice Monitoring Programme (PMP) inspections
- Advise clients on financial reporting and compliance matters under SFRS
- Build, mentor, and lead an audit team (associates to managers)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify cross-functional opportunities (e.g. accounting, tax, advisory), while maintaining independence
Requirements
- Registered Public Accountant with ACRA (Singapore) - mandatory
- Member of ISCA (CA Singapore) or equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum 8-12 years of audit experience, with proven experience signing audit reports
- Strong working knowledge of: Singapore Standards on Auditing (SSA), Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and ISQM / audit quality control standards
- Prior experience in SME / mid-market audit environments preferred
- Experience handling or preparing for ACRA PMP inspections is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to build or lead audit teams
- Strong understanding of professional ethics, independence, and risk management
