ROLE OVERVIEW
The Audit Executive supports the Internal Audit Manager in executing the annual audit plan. This is an entry-to-mid level role suited to a motivated individual seeking to build a career in internal audit within a SME environment. The role provides exposure to operational, financial, and compliance audits across multiple business units.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit Execution
- Assist in planning and executing audit assignments in accordance with the approved audit plan and IIA Standards.
- Perform fieldwork including interviews, document reviews, walkthroughs, and testing of controls.
- Document work papers clearly and accurately to support audit findings and conclusions.
- Identify control weaknesses and exceptions, escalating material issues to the Internal Audit Manager.
Reporting & Follow-Up
- Draft sections of audit reports for review by the Internal Audit Manager.
- Assist in tracking the status of management action plans and follow up on outstanding items.
- Maintain an organised and up-to-date audit file and working paper repository.
Continuous Improvement
- Keep abreast of developments in internal audit standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Contribute to improving audit templates, checklists, and methodologies over time.
- Support ad hoc assignments and special reviews as directed by the Internal Audit Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS& EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification(CIA, ACCA, CA) or pursuit thereof is an advantage.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in internal or external audit. Fresh graduates with strong academics are welcome to apply.
- Familiarity with basic internal control concepts and audit documentation practices.
